2.10 Write a short biography of John F. Kennedy

John Fitzgerald "Jack" Kennedy was born May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He was a politician who served as the 35th President of the United States from January 1961 until he was assassinated in November 1963. He graduated rom Harvard University in 1940 and joined the US Navy two years later. He married Jacqueline Bouvier and they had two children. On January 20th, 1961, he became president. President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, at 12:30 pm Central Standard Time on Friday November 22, 1963. Kennedy made a speech at Rice University on September 12, 1962, in which he said: "No nation which expects to be the leader of other nations can expect to stay behind in this race for space. ... We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard."
